The United Nations World Food Programme is the largest humanitarian aid agency on the planet. Thanks to the work of WFP and thousands of NGOs, the number of hungry people in the world has dropped from one in three in 1960 to less than one in seven today. Last year; WFP helped feed 77 million people in 82 countries. WFP aims to save lives and alleviate poverty -particularly that of women and childrenócaused by war, drought, economic failure, oppression, political unrest, and hiv/aids. An apolitical agency, WFP is entirely funded by voluntary donations from national governments, organizations and individuals. To make an online donation or to find a mailing address for cash donations, visit www.wfp.org

The World Food Programme collaborates with other UN agencies and over 1,000 NGOs worldwide, which implement many of the projects supported with WFP food aid. We would like to thank the following organizations and people whose vital work allows food aid to reach the people who need it and who provided us with support and assistance in the making of HUNGER.
