Oil for doctors
Cuba and Venezuela are engaged in an exchange of two “scarce” commodities: Cuba supplies doctors to Venezuela, which repays in oil. The agreement was signed by Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez in 2004.

Light for light. One of the prime objectives of Misión Milagro is to fight blindness among the Venezuelan population. In exchange, Cuba receives the oil it needs to light the dark streets of Havana.
